Crofton House School is currently seeking a Model United Nations (MUN) and Ethics Bowl coach to join the Senior School MUN team (Grades 8-12). As a MUN and Ethics Bowl Coach, you will work collaboratively with the teacher sponsors and student club captains to deliver a program that develops students’ knowledge of global issues and supports their involvement at competitions.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver practices for MUN and Ethics Bowl club members on Tuesdays after school.

  • Act as a supervisor and support for students at competition(s) as needed.

  • Work in partnership with the teacher sponsors and club captains to promote, plan, and deliver a MUN and Ethics Bowl program that meets the needs of new and experienced club members.

  • Provide additional resources, training, and support to students as they prepare for various conferences and competitions.

  • Support and develop the leadership abilities of the MUN and Ethics Bowl student club captains, including preparing and equipping them to independently run practices.

  • Attend planning meetings with the teacher sponsors and club captains to review progress and future plans.

  • Maintain open communication with the teacher sponsors and school administration.

  • Ensure the safety and well-being of students at all times.

  • Participate in school-initiated training such as:
    Respect in the Workplace and Safeguarding

  • Other responsibilities as required.

  • Qualifications, Knowledge,

    Experience:

  • 1 - 3 years of experience coaching Model United Nations and/or Ethics Bowl.

  • Be knowledgeable in the procedures and formats of local High School MUN conferences.

  • Demonstrable awareness of the learning styles of girls and young women.

  • Committed to the standards of professional practice.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
