Contract Position, Summer English Language Program

The Summer English Language Program at Langara College requires full-time English as a Second Language instructors from August 4 - 21, 2026.

Instructors will be responsible for delivering the course as described in the SELP curriculum. This includes planning lessons and assignments that fulfill course objectives, preparing additional materials as required, and accompanying students on off‑campus site visits. The instructor will also be required to attend a preparation meeting in advance of the program start date.

• Bachelor’s Degree with a BC TEAL/TESL-Canada recognized TESL certificate equivalent to a specialization in TESL from a degree program.
• Minimum two-year teaching experience in ESL at the adult level.
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team.

Instructors generally work Monday to Friday, from 9‑12 noon and 1‑3 p.m.

Salary: $38 per hour ($36.54 salary plus 4% vacation pay).
