Discovery Community College is seeking a highly organized and detail‑oriented Instructor Scheduling Coordinator to support the delivery of our academic programs. This role plays a critical part in ensuring instructors are scheduled effectively, classes are staffed appropriately, and instructional coverage is maintained across programs and campuses.
Location: Any of DCC Campus (Nanaimo, Campbell River, Langford, Kelowna, Maple Ridge, Prince George)
Employment Type: Full‑Time
Schedule: Monday–Friday (some flexibility required during peak academic periods)
Compensation: $52,000 – $55,000 per annum
- Coordinate and maintain teaching and instructor schedules across programs, intakes, and campuses.
- Ensure appropriate instructor coverage for classes, labs, clinicals, and practicums .
- Respond to short‑notice instructor absences and arrange coverage as required.
- Communicate schedule changes clearly and promptly to instructors and internal teams.
- Liaise with Program Educators and Academic Leadership regarding staffing needs and instructional coverage.
- Maintain accurate scheduling records and update internal systems, spreadsheets, and calendars.
- Support onboarding and scheduling of new instructors.
- Assist with timetable planning for new intakes, term changes, and program modifications.
- Ensure scheduling practices align with institutional policies and regulatory requirements.
- Provide general administrative support related to academic operations, as needed.
- Bachelor's degree (preferably in education, business, or a related field) or equivalent experience/other education.
- Experience in education administration, student services, online program qualifications & experience.
- Post secondary education in Education, Business Administration, Office Administration, or a related field.
- 2+ years of scheduling, academic administration, or coordination experience, preferably in a private or public post secondary institution.
- Experience working with instructors, faculty, or sessional staff is strongly preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple schedules simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and scheduling tools.
- Ability to work independently and respond effectively to time sensitive changes.
- Experience in adult education, vocational training, or regulated programs is an asset.
- High level of attention to detail.
