Join Squamish Nation as an Indigenous Language Curriculum Developer–Writer. This key role emphasizes curriculum creation aimed at strengthening community identity through language education.
Working in the Language and Cultural Affairs team, you will focus on developing high-quality learning resources. By collaborating with Elders and various experts, you’ll ensure that the curriculum meets both educational and cultural priorities, vital for language revitalization.
Key Responsibilities:
• Write and adapt curriculum tailored for immersion programming
• Conduct collaborative research across departments
• Identify and assess existing curriculum gaps and needs
• Participate in policy development for language initiatives
• Support program delivery and teaching as needed
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Curriculum Development or Education
• 5–6 years of teaching and writing experience
• Strong grasp of language instruction techniques
• Ability to nurture community relationships
• Proficiency in Squamish language preferred
