St. Jude School , a Catholic school established in 1955 and located in the beautiful city of Vancouver, is seeking to hire a full time Teacher for the school year.
The position is full time for Gr. 2. This position is a short term contract for those new to CISVA and Continuing Contract for those who are already on a Continuing Contract in CISVA.
JOB DESCRIPTION- Be a practicing Catholic who can model the faith for others and give witness to the Gospel message of Jesus
- Be willing and able to work collaboratively within the school community
- Have a strong understanding of project based and inquiry learning, core and curricular competencies, and best practices in assessment strategies
- Be able to adapt instructional methods to support different learning styles through UDL
- Be familiar with current best practices with early literacy intervention
- Be willing to administer literacy assessments such as Dibels, JJ Basic Reading Inventory, Alberta Diagnostic, etc. or be willing to learn
- Have excellent communication and classroom management skills
- Have experience working with students who are at various points in their learning journey
- Be willing to commit to extracurriculars (sports, arts, music, clubs, etc.) to further support the goals of the school
