High School Math Teacher-Tutor

Job Overview

Oxford Learning Kitsilano is looking for a part-time high school math teacher/tutor to join our learning centre. This role is ideal for someone who loves working with students, enjoys numbers and equations, and is passionate about building students’ math skills.

• Work after-school and evening hours (3:30pm-7:00pm) and some Saturdays (10:00am-3:00pm).
• Commit to the end of the term in June if possible.
• Teaching is in-person; online work is also supported.
• Must be able to commute to the Kitsilano location; local residents preferred.
• Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.

• Teach up to three students at a time across different levels.
• Deliver lessons using Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies.
• Fill in post-lesson notes and complete daily student communication updates.
• Maintain a friendly and professional manner at all times.
• Enjoy the process of helping students develop self-confidence and self-esteem.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification in a relevant field.
• Teaching certification is an asset.
• Strong knowledge of Grades 9-12 math curriculum, particularly senior math, advanced functions, algebra, trigonometry, calculus, and vectors.
• Some experience teaching or tutoring Grade 9-12 math or equivalent.
• Strong English written and oral communication skills.
• Solid math skills and ability to guide student understanding.
• Ability to multitask and balance work with up to three students at a time.

Part-time, evening work Monday to Friday with Saturday availability. Salary range: $20–$21 per hour.
