On-Call Secondary Math/Science Teachers

The Vancouver Board of Education (VSB) welcomes applications for this position. Only candidates who are fully qualified in the subject area will be considered. The Board requires that teaching officers be available for call-out on 50% of instructional days in any month.

• Bachelor of Education
• Undergraduate degree in Mathematics or Science and/or successful teaching experience in Math/Chemistry/Biology/Physics at the secondary level
• Membership in or eligibility to become a member of the Teacher Regulation Branch (TRB)
• Registration with the Teacher Qualification Service (TQS)

• Academic Transcripts
• Reports/Evaluations (not lesson observations)
• Recent graduates: final practicum reports
• Experienced teachers: a recent teaching evaluation within the past 8 years
• At least 3 professional references (email and phone numbers). Recent graduates: faculty advisor, school advisor(s), most recent employer, optionally principal or vice‑principal. Experienced teachers: current principal, vice‑principal, previous administrator(s).
• Friends or teaching colleagues are not accepted as references.
