French Immersion Teachers (Continuing Full‑Time with Benefits) Job Code: 4011109

Vancouver School District #39 (VSB), Vancouver, British Columbia

Full-time, Continuing vacancies, Guaranteed employment, Medical benefits included.
We are currently recruiting French Immersion teachers for several schools and positions, including:
L'école Bilingue – Grade 6 French Immersion – 1.00 FTE
Strathcona Elementary – Grades 3/4 French Immersion – 0.4117 FTE (Thursday and Friday) – 2 positions
French Immersion Secondary Science – Permanent TTOC
Positions are typically assigned at the elementary level, with new teachers mostly placed in classes from kindergarten through grade
7. Teachers may be assigned to temporary long‑term contracts or permanent contracts, and may be required to work on a day‑to‑day basis across different schools as needed.
Responsibilities:
Teach French immersion to students, following curriculum and Instructional Plan.
Plan and implement creative, engaging lessons in French, using research-based practices for second‑ or additional‑language acquisition.
Collaborate with fellow French‑immersion teachers, principals, and administration to support student learning.
Engage in continuous professional development, participate in mentorship programs, and coordinate with a teacher‑advisor for support.
Qualifications:
Completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Education.
Completion of an extended French‑immersion teaching practicum and/or successful teaching experience in French immersion.
Native fluency in written and oral French.
Recent teaching evaluation and experience are an asset.
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
Member or eligible to become a member of the British Columbia Teacher Regulation Branch (TRB).
Registered with the Teacher Qualification Service (TQS).

Curriculum Vitae
Final practicum reports and/or recent teaching evaluations from the past eight years provided by your current administrator
Academic transcripts for your Bachelor of Education degree
Contact information for three professional references (educational advisors, school faculty, current teaching contract supervisors)
Proof of French proficiency (Delphi results or equivalent, or French‑immersion practicum completion)
TRB status: if your application is in progress, provide a screenshot of the application and the dropdown menu of pending documents
