STEM Specialist Teacher Grades 6-9

Pear Tree School seeks a dedicated STEM Specialist Teacher for grades 6-9 starting August 2026. Focus on scientific thinking and problem-solving within a theme-based curriculum.

We are expanding and hiring a full-time teacher who excels in delivering the BC Mathematics curriculum and planning hands-on, inquiry-driven learning experiences. The role encompasses serving as a homeroom teacher and instructing STEM subjects in a cohesive, engaging manner. You’ll have the opportunity to foster a positive classroom culture and support student wellbeing through structured routines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach STEM across grade groupings and themes

• Design hands-on labs and investigations

• Collaborate with other teachers for cohesive programs

• Develop assessments for clear learning evidence

• Manage classroom routines and family communication

Requirements:

• M.Ed. or equivalent is non-negotiable

• Valid BC Teacher Certification or eligible

• Over three years of middle school teaching experience

• Strong classroom management and communication skills

• Commitment to the Pear Tree Method and high standards
