Youth Worker at East Van Education Centre

Make a difference in the lives of youth as a Youth Worker at East Van Education Centre in Vancouver. This full-time role focuses on academic support, counseling, and recreation.

The East Van Education Centre is seeking a dedicated Youth Worker to support youth aged 13-18. In this position, you will integrate academic programs with therapeutic activities while collaborating with teachers and fellow youth workers. A strong understanding of child development, behavior management, and family outreach is essential for your success in fostering resilience in students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as a positive role model for students

• Develop experiential learning and community connections

• Provide behavioral support and individual supervision

• Participate in Individual Education Plan (IEP) development

• Maintain daily documentation and participant files

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Child and Youth Care or a related field

• 1 year of experience in an educational setting

• Experience with Indigenous, BIPOC, or LGBTQ2

SIA+ youth

• Certifications in Trauma-Informed Practice and MANDT

• Driver's License Class 5 and Basic First Aid
