Shape the future of bioinformatics education at Langara College as a temporary Instructor. Teach key applications in proteomics and metabolomics to engaged students while developing innovative curriculum.
This part-time position requires delivering hands-on learning for two crucial micro-credentials in Bioinformatics. The instructor will develop course materials, maintain office hours, and provide essential feedback to students. This role includes significant opportunities to enhance students' understanding of bioinformatics tools and principles through practical applications.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and teach bioinformatics curriculum focusing on micro-credentials
• Prepare and deliver engaging course materials and instruction
• Maintain office hours for student consultations and support
• Evaluate student projects involving biological data analysis
• Attend departmental meetings to contribute to program development
Requirements:
• MSc in Bioinformatics or related field;
PhD preferred
• Teaching experience in post-secondary education preferred
• Expertise in proteomics, metabolomics, or computational biology
• Strong communication skills in English
• Experience in industry or research is an asset
