Part‑Time Math/Science Teacher

Oxford Learning Vancouver Oakridge is seeking a part‑time Math/Science teacher‑tutor to support students in grades 8‑12.

Employment Type: Part Time

Pay: $18.00 to $20.00 per hour

Location: Vancouver, British Columbia

Schedule: 3:00 pm-7:00 pm after-school and evening hours, Saturdays 10:00 am-3:00 pm, Sundays 10:00 am-2:00 pm. Commitment until the end of the school year preferred; summer continuing better. In‑person only; must commute; no relocation packages; vulnerable sector screening mandatory.

Education
  • Pursuing/finished Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field
  • Good knowledge of the current Grades 8-12 math and science curriculum, particularly senior math and including Advanced Functions, algebra, trigonometry and calculus, as well as vectors, physics, chemistry, and biology
Experience
  • Some experience teaching/tutoring math and science at a Grade 8-12 (or equivalent) level
  • Strong English written and oral communication skills
  • Strong math/science knowledge and ability to guide students’ understanding
  • Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time
Responsibilities
  • Teaching up to 3 students at a time at different levels
  • Teaching online and in‑person
  • Following the Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies
  • Filling in post‑lesson notes
  • Completing daily student communication updates
  • Maintaining a friendly and professional manner at all times
