St. Lawrence School is located in beautiful Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, and seeks an enthusiastic part- time BC certified teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate is a passionate educator with strong organizational skills and deep knowledge of their subject area. Past experience teaching AP Biology is an asset, but not required. Candidates will be part of a collaborative teaching team, where strong verbal and written communication skills are needed to effectively communicate with students, parents, colleagues, and administrators.

All faculty and staff rence School share an enthusiasm for making a positive and uplifting impact on our young students.

The successful candidate will hold a valid British Columbia teaching certificate, or be eligible to apply for one through the Teacher Regulation Branch. Applicants who already hold a BC certificate will be given priority. The individual must model high professional and ethical standards, as expected of a teacher at an academically focused independent school in British Columbia. Responsibilities include planning and teaching effective lessons, managing the classroom, building supportive relationships with students, and contributing to the school's extra‑curricular program.

St. Lawrence School's AP classes run from September 2026 to April 2027. Courses are scheduled outside of regular school hours and meet on weekends.

Part-time Teaching Positions – AP Biology. Compensation Package: $40 - $60 per hour (depending on experience)

Classes begin mid September 2026

Preference will be given to candidates with the following qualifications:

  • Provincially qualified teachers in good standing.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with internal and external community members.
  • Understanding of other cultures and the ability to communicate in cross-cultural environments.
  • Ability to be tactful, demonstrate excellent judgment, and work as a positive and collaborative team member.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, teachers, parents, staff, and community members.
  • Ability to identify and assist students with emotional and other health concerns.
  • Enthusiastic, energetic, a self-starter with the ability to work independently.
  • Well-organized, with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • A willingness to follow the school's policies and procedures.
  • Enjoy leadership in extra‑curricular student-based activities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and other educational technology.
