Job SummaryThe Student Recruitment Team at the Chartered Professional Accountants of British Columbia (CPABC) plays a crucial role in building awareness and attracting individuals to pursue the CPA profession. By engaging with potential students through various outreach programs, informational sessions, and partnerships with educational institutions, the team highlights the benefits and opportunities of becoming a CPA. They provide valuable resources and guidance to help prospective students understand the CPA pathway, including the rigorous training and ethical standards upheld by CPABC.
Through these efforts, the student recruitment team ensures a steady influx of talented individuals who are prepared to bring superior financial expertise, strategic thinking, business insight, and leadership to organizations, thereby contributing to the profession’s growth and reputation.
The Student Recruitment Officer is responsible for building awareness and interest in accounting careers and the CPA designation, with a focus on an assigned market portfolio and/or region. The role increases visibility of the profession by coordinating events, delivering presentations, fostering relationships with key stakeholders, negotiating sponsor ships, and providing career advisory services. Reporting to the Manager, Student Recruitment, the incumbent will specifically focus on assigned market group and region.
Key Responsibilities Event Planning and Outreach Activities- Deliver information sessions online and in-person to build awareness and interest in the CPA profession.
- Plan, coordinate, and implement the logistics for recruitment initiatives, including marketing through various channels, liaising with venues, managing registrations, recruiting speakers/employers, hosting events, and collecting feedback through surveys.
- Attend events at assigned schools and other partner organizations, speaking about the CPA program, and offering career advisory support to prospective students and candidates.
- Assist stakeholder groups in promoting their events and finding volunteers or ambassadors to represent CPABC.
- Identify career events and negotiate sponsorship agreements to support CPABC’s participation, enhancing CPA brand awareness among assigned market group and facilitating networking opportunities between employers and prospective students and candidates.
- Actively promote CPABC services and events, including the Career Connect Program that increase student interests and ultimately enrollment in CPA PREP and PEP programs.
- Support the Senior Student Marketing Specialist in distributing marketing and communication materials, such as newsletters, events announcements, and social media posts to increase awareness and visibility of these initiatives.
- Attend relevant internal and external events to network, build relationships, and promote the CPA profession, with stakeholders, prospective students and candidates.
- Travel within the province of BC and/or Yukon to attend events, deliver presentations, and conduct meetings with stakeholders.
