Early Learning Educator Assistant On Call

Capilano University seeks an On-Call Early Childhood Educator Assistant for its North Vancouver Children’s Centre. This role is designed for those passionate about nurturing early learners from infancy to 5 years old.

Reporting to the Center Manager and Dean, you will support a play-based and family-focused learning environment.

Your role will involve emotional guidance for children, ensuring safety, and collaborating with fellow educators. Additionally, you will create opportunities for children to express their thoughts and experiences, making learning transparent through effective documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement programs based on BC child care standards

• Nurture children’s emotions and support their learning journey

• Keep the learning environment organized, clean, and safe

• Provide comprehensive indoor and outdoor play activities

• Liaise with families to enhance their involvement in learning

Requirements:

• Completion of 30 credits in Early Childhood Education

• Valid first-aid certificate and criminal record check

• Solid understanding of child development and care regulations

• Effective communication with children and families

• Ability to work flexible hours as required
