Solar Speialist Electrical Apprentice
Job Duties
- electrical installation, maintenance and repair of solar photovoltaics and energy storage systems.
- installing solar photovoltaic panels, inverters, and associated equipment on rooftops of residential and commercial buildings
- installing electrical conservation equipment, energy-efficient lighting fixtures and general electrical work
- completing solar site assessments
- completed at least first year electrical apprenticeship program or equivalent
- at least 7 years electrical experience
- experience in installing photovoltaic systems including commissioning inverters and monitoring systems
- experience supervising photovoltaic installation crews
- understanding of roof mounting systems including watertight shingle mount, standing seam mounts, seismic attachments and ballasted systems
- experience with both residential and industrial electrical systems including troubleshooting
- experience wiring transformers, junction boxes, service panels and switches
- comfortable working on roofs
- Fall Safety training and experience preparing Work Safe plans
- physically fit (able to carry heavy object 30-50 lbs, use ladders, climb on roofs)
- experience with front-facing customer service
- experience with preparation of single line diagrams for photovoltaic systems
- drone operation experience
- experience installing batteries systems including Growatt and EG4
Pay: $36.60 per hour (or higher) based on qualifications and experience
