Position: Aircraft Maintenance Technician - (CAT 19) - Structures
Location & Compensation  Vancouver, BC, Canada (On site). Starting pay:
Based on experience – up to $44.66/hour.
Job Overview  Air Canada is currently seeking structural and sheet metal technicians for its Vancouver maintenance centre.
Responsibilities   Perform structural repairs and modifications to aircraft, and work related to service bulletins using technical specifications, manuals or drawings.
Perform and certify sheet metal and composite repairs on aircraft components, and on company and/or contractor aircraft.
Plan, coordinate and execute work, including required inspections, assessments and MR.
Troubleshoot material, tooling and engineering issues affecting the plan, estimate and define planned repairs.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to ATs and other TEAs.
Coordinate and supervise maintenance staff assignment to maximize production flow with TLs, planners, other TEAs and staff as required.
Sign maintenance authorizations (MA) for non-authorized personnel and sign on behalf of personnel not directly assigned to the workgroup on an ad‑hoc basis.
Perform general visual inspections (GVI), detailed visual inspections (DVI), compliance inspections, self‑checks and required inspection items (RII); sign defects according to defined standards.
Ensure defect supervision and management, and complete and verify all technical records and data entries for any work performed.
Ensure AW and safety policies, processes and standards are followed.
Coach, train and mentor maintenance staff, and ensure adequate work‑transfer information is provided to Maintenance Operations Control (MOC) staff and to the next shift team.
Maintain a safe and tidy workplace.
Be familiar with Transport Canada and company manuals and documents, read the structures repair manual, and obtain a ramp vehicle driver permit.
Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications & Requirements   Graduate of a Transport Canada approved school under the structures program and/or have aircraft work experience in sheet metal and/or composite materials.
Possess a Transport Canada "S" structures licence (MOT), or be working toward obtaining an "S" licence and be able to obtain it.
Possess a valid driver's licence.
Excellent communication skills.
Strong planning and organizational skills.
Ability to meet deadlines, work under pressure and manage/prioritize multiple projects.
Availability to work days, evenings or nights, including weekends and statutory holidays.
High flexibility and adaptability.
Ability to effectively resolve problems and conflicts.
Motivated and enthusiastic team player.
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Demonstrate punctuality and reliability to support overall team success in a fast‑paced environment.
Must obtain and maintain all transport security clearances and any additional applicable accreditations.
Candidates must be authorized to work in the country at the time the job is offered; obtaining any work permits/visas or other required authorizations is the sole responsibility of applicants.
