About UsThe Keno Hill mine, located within the Keno Hill Silver District in Canada’s Yukon Territory. Keno Hill, is one of the highest-grade silver districts in the world, is situated 350 kilometres north of Whitehorse, and lies within the traditional territory of the First Nation of Na-Cho Nyak Dun. What You Can Expect In This Role
- Safe training of all underground employees on various pieces of underground gear;
- Coordinate training activities with other departments and contractors;
- Develop and update Underground SOP (Safe Operating Procedures);
- 50% in the field training and 50% in the office record keeping and organizing of training records;
- Keep training records and SOPs up to date with Microsoft office programs like Word and Excel;
- Train and develop a diverse workforce in the safe and efficient operation of equipment;
- Provide effective leadership to build a strong employee culture;
- Sign 5-pt safety cards, training cards and JHAs while in the field;
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives;
- Ensure a high level of quality and production standards;
- Ensure a safe working environment is created for the team;
- May be required to provide back-up UG Supervisor coverage when required (only after a Yukon supervisor ticket is obtained); and
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- You will help to promote a strong environmental culture, promoting and teaching environmentally friendly values and work practices.
- You will help to foster a strong safety culture, promoting and exemplifying safe work practices throughout the organization.

- 10 + years of experience working in an underground mine.
- Train the Trainer accreditation.
- Knowledge of OHS legislation is required.
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities in a face paced growing work environment.
- Proven communication skills and ability to work effectively with a wide range of individuals and groups.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite – Word, Excel, and Power Point.
- Pre-Employment Testing (drug & alcohol, blood lead, and audiogram).
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License.
- Clean Driver's Abstract.
