As a Junior GIS Technician, you will play a vital role in the Rights & Title Department at Squamish Nation. This position offers an exciting opportunity to support various projects that preserve the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw territory through effective geospatial data management and analysis. Collaboration with different teams in archaeology, referrals, and climate initiatives will be part of your everyday work.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage and publish geospatial data using ArcGIS tools
• Produce detailed maps and charts for diverse projects
• Collaborate to develop tailored geospatial solutions
• Update GIS layers across multiple formats and repositories
• Support the maintenance of centralized geodatabases
Requirements:
• Degree or diploma in GIS or related field
• Experience with ArcGIS software products
• Strong understanding of GIS principles and analysis
• Proficiency in scripting languages like Python
• Strong organizational and teamwork skills
