BC Building Science seeks a Mechanical Engineer (P.Eng.) to join our team. The role focuses on energy engineering including modeling and commissioning for new and existing buildings. You will be supervised by a senior professional engineer.
Base pay rangeCA $90,000.00/yr – CA$/yr
What We Expect From You- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Registered Professional Engineer in BC (P.Eng.).
- Minimum 3 years full‑time experience with IES‑VE and/or building HVAC system field review/commissioning.
- Full understanding of local building codes, construction methods, materials, and detailed drawings.
- Skilled in technical writing and excellent written and oral communication.
- Excellent team player.
- Creative thinker with high attention to detail.
- Perform energy modelling for residential, commercial and institutional buildings.
- Execute commissioning of building HVAC systems during design and construction phases.
- Prepare thermal bridging and thermal performance analysis.
- Communicate and maintain ongoing design and construction correspondence with Developers, Designers, Contractors, and Architects.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
