TRS Staffing Solutions has an exciting opportunity for a
Material Handling Engineering Lead role to work for an amazing EPCM client in Vancouver, BC. This is a full-time permanent position that comes with great opportunity to work on medium to large sized Mining projects.
Responsibilities:Review and approve vendor lists, prepare quotation requests, bid tabulations, and purchase orders.Supervise and Lead the design of conveyors, perform calculations, and determine drive and take-up details.Manage project Scope of Services, Scope of Facilities, and other baseline documents.Supervise the development of material handling designs for crushing and screening facilities.Authorize trade-off study reports comparing technical and commercial aspects.Size storage stockpiles and bins, and design reclaim arrangements.Lead the review of vendor equipment documentation.Assign work to teams, monitor progress, and manage scope of work.Create and review material handling equipment specifications and design criteria.Incorporate health, safety, and environmental factors into design.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.Over 15 years of experience in bulk material handling engineering and design.Mining background is a must.At least 10 years in leadership role.Professional certification or registration with a recognized engineering association.Proficient in reading drawings, PFDs, and P&IDs.Enthusiastic about learning and contributing in a team environment.Strong English communication skills for interacting with management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors.Ability to work in the office, with potential for remote work based on experience.Preferred:
Advanced knowledge of belt conveyor standards (CEMA, ISO, DIN) and design software (Sidewinder, Newton), plus practical field experience.
