The salary range for this position is $90,000 to $110,000 per annum. Please note that Tetra Tech considers various factors in determining pay, including but not limited to: education, relevant and demonstrated work experience in the role, skills, geographic location, qualifications, certifications, and other competencies relevant to the needs of the business.

Your Role
  • Responsible for providing a range of geological services to clients across various industries including mining, transportation and infrastructure.
  • Support projects associated with geochemical characterization and acid rock drainage and metal leaching management and mitigation. This may include developing and implement field sampling programs, analysis and interpretation of geochemical results, waste rock and tailings management plans, supporting cover system designs, water quality modelling, and environmental impacts evaluations.
  • Support geologic modelling, resource evaluations, National Instrument 43-101 technical reports, due diligence studies, mine permitting applications, and geologic mapping.
  • Collaborate with a diverse group of experts, including geologists, engineers, and environmental professionals.
  • Collect and analyze geological and geotechnical information.
  • Undertake and supervise geological field investigations and sampling programs for rock, sediment and water quality analyses.
  • Develop proposals and cost estimates for client review.
  • Communicate with clients and sub consultants.
  • Prepare safe work forms for field work and commit to maintaining safety as paramount in all work.
  • Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards.
  • Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.
  • Work in a safe manner at all times and report all health and safety incidents and concerns.
  • Additional duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Degree in Geology, Geoscience or Earth Science.
  • Be registered as P.Geo with EGBC, or equivalent professional organization.
  • Have a minimum of 5 years recent and relevant experience, preferably in a consulting environment.
  • Ability to prepare clear and effective technical reports for internal and external use.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products including MS Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the principles of acid rock drainage and metal leaching characterization, analysis and interpretation is required.
  • Demonstrated experience with water quality modelling is an asset.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of geochemical software such as pHreeq

    C is an asset.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of geological modelling software such as Geovia Surpac, Datamine Studio RM, and Seequent Leapfrog is an asset.
  • Familiarity with water quality guidelines and regulatory criteria is considered an asset.
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada, possess a valid passport and able to travel for project work.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license or equivalent.
  • Strong people skills and an ability to work in a team environment.
