Graham is actively recruiting for a HSE Coordinator supporting the Buildings Division. Reporting to the Regional HSE Manager, the HSE Coordinator is responsible for ensuring Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) compliance on assigned projects and may support multiple projects including the Skytrain Operations and Maintenace Centre project. This role involves proactive safety management, reporting, and supporting operational teams in implementing the HSE Management System (HSE MS).
Your Role in Building What Matters – From Office to Site
- Lead HSE Compliance and Safety Orientation
Conduct project-specific safety orientations for all workers and visitors prior to work commencement and ensure emergency response plans are communicated
- Perform Inspections and Ensure Corrective Actions
Confirm equipment inspections are completed, reports prepared, and deficiencies addressed. Verify controlled products have current SDS/MSDS documentation as per regulation
- Monitor and Report Safety Performance
Review incident reports and maintain monthly statistics to identify trends. Provide leading and lagging safety indicators to Regional Safety Manager, Director, and Corporate
- Support Behavioral Safety and Emergency Preparedness
Assist in Behavior-Based Safety (BBS) assessments and ensure emergency documents and bulletins are posted and communicate
- Facilitate HSE Meetings and Continuous Improvement
Attend and actively participate in HSE meetings and collaborate with operations to improve day-to-day HSE practices
The Right Tools for the Job
- Education: NCSO Certificate or higher;
Health & Safety certification or designation is an asset
- Skills Required: Strong understanding of HSE Management Systems, proficiency in MS Office Suite and online reporting tools, knowledge of general constructability
- Experience: 2–5 years in safety or a related field, with hands-on experience in inspections, reporting, and compliance. Experience with structural steel an asset.
Compensation
- Salary Range: $35.00 to $45.00 per hour
- Compensation aligned to education and experience, ensuring fair and competitive placement
- Three to five weeks of vacation, with additional credit for prior industry experience
