Asa Senior Research Engineer– Advanced Concepts(AC),youworkwithahighly technical interdisciplinary group of forward-thinkerstogenerate knowledge, apply aresearchand engineering point-of-view, and deliver solutions for the mountain athlete everywhere.
With support from your team, youdrive and contribute to technical projects across all product categories.
You apply your curiosity and experience in solving complex problems to the intersection of outdoor apparel and equipment and cutting-edge innovation.
This role is based out of our North Vancouver office and is open tolocalhybrid work only. Candidates must be a commutable distance from our office and eligible to work in Canada.

If you were a Senior Research Engineer - Advanced Concepts, now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:
Defining science-based project objectives, developing robust performance evaluationmethodologiesand creating technical solutions in support of the Advanced Concepts priority projects
Leading the performance evaluation processes for Advanced Concepts projectsthroughvalidating research hypotheses and scientific POVs,testing both on athletes and in the laboratory
Discovering product insights through completing applied research on our mountain athletesandtranslating findings into innovative solutions in collaboration with cross-functional teams
Creating new test methods and processes thattranslatetestinginthe mountainsto testing in our laboratory and on materials
Building infrastructure so that testing protocols, data assessment and reporting is consistent, easily sharedand centrally regulated
Advising onthe most modern testing and analysis equipmentforour Research and Engineering(R&D) function
Partnering with both academic and industry partners to bring in specializedexpertiseand equipment
Designing and fabricating novel test fixtures and equipment, to support in product performance validation
Collaborating across the Advanced Concepts and Product
Creation teams
Partnering with AC leadership tomaintaina robust
Intellectual Property (IP) portfolio, proprietarysolutionsand exclusivity on materials projectswithinalignment with the Legal team
Partnering withthe
Innovation Operationsteamon
R&Dspecific resourcing opportunities,including funding, academic and internship programs (SR&ED, IRAP, NRC, MITACS, and so forth)
Driving key initiatives to support the future of Arc’teryx with a focus on product circularity
Travellingacrossthelocal field as required, with potential to travel in collaboration with vendors and external partners

Building data and testing capabilities to connect science-based numbers to the product and field evaluations
Are you our next Senior Research Engineer - Advanced Concepts?
You have amaster’s degree in engineering or research,specializing in mechanical, biomedical,sports,biomechanicsorkinesiology, or the equivalent experience, with 3+yearsoftechnicalapparel and/or equipment experience in product innovation,applied research, engineering and/oraperformancevalidationenvironment
You have exceptional communication skills, including a proven ability tosolicitandcommunicate findings to both scientists and nonscientists, with strong presentation skills
You have experience with experimental design, datacollectionand analysis, as well as dissemination of findings and you are comfortable presenting to all levels of leadership
You have experience working with athletes tocreateand executeperformance validation strategies for technical products
You have a deep understanding of technical apparel and/or performance hardgoods design and/or production
You are energizedbyproblem solvingin the fields of applied human research, advanced manufacturing, and performance validationin both theathlete/sciencelabenvironments
You are experienced in identifying,creating and protecting
IP with internal and external legal teams
You are proactive inidentifyingthe root cause of issues,seeking the best (sometimes not the easiest) solutions with an unwavering commitment to do what isright
You remain highly flexible and adaptable when faced withambiguity
