Job Description & How to Apply Below

The Senior Project Engineer will support the Project Management team to drive key initiatives, oversee aspects of project execution and help with coordination across departments.

Key Responsibilities:

Phase Director support and leadership
  • Support the Phase Director with technical leadership across multi-discipline interfaces (process, mining, infrastructure, TSF, water, logistics, power).
  • Drive integration across engineering, project controls, cost, schedule, risk, and execution strategy to ensure “one plan / one basis.”
  • Prepare concise decision briefs, recommendation memos, and steering materials (trade-offs, implications, risks, next steps).
  • Coordinate priority deliverables and remove roadblocks across discipline leads and the EPCM.
Integration, interfaces, and delivery assurance
  • Lead management of cross-discipline interfaces (process, utilities, water, TSF, logistics, infrastructure) ensuring gaps and overlaps are identified and closed.
  • Maintain a strong “basis of design / basis of estimate” discipline: ensure assumptions are current, documented, and consistently applied.
  • Support stage-gate readiness by coordinating required deliverables, review cycles, and evidence of maturity against gate criteria.
  • Ensure project work aligns with governance requirements, internal standards, and assurance expectations (IPR/peer review readiness).
Cost, schedule, risk, and change management
  • Partner with Project Controls to validate schedule logic, critical path drivers, and milestone integrity; support recovery planning when required.
  • Support cost and estimate management by validating technical inputs, quantities, productivity assumptions, and indirect logic.
  • Lead/participate in change control: assess impacts, develop recommendations, and ensure decisions are recorded and communicated.
  • Drive risk and opportunity identification with discipline leads and ensure practical mitigation actions are implemented.
Contractor/EPCM management and collaboration
  • Support oversight of EPCM and key contractors: clarify scope boundaries, ensure deliverables meet quality expectations, and track action closure.
  • Participate in contract strategy development and ensure technical/commercial alignment (scope clarity, interfaces, deliverables, acceptance criteria).
  • Promote safe, quality-driven execution through consistent expectations and field/constructability engagement.
  • Take full ownership of the OPEX model (structure, assumptions, version control, governance) and maintain a clear basis of estimate.
  • Develop and maintain OPEX inputs by area: mining, processing, utilities (power/fuel), water systems, camp/services, logistics, maintenance, G&A, sustaining capital interface.
  • Coordinate OPEX assumptions with Engineering, Operations/Readiness, Supply Chain, and Finance (rates, consumption factors, staffing, maintenance strategies).
  • Assist in the development of sensitivities and scenario cases (throughput, recovery, mining sequence, altitude factors, reagent/fuel/power pricing, water strategy, logistics routes).
  • Ensure alignment between OPEX model outputs and estimate classifications, design maturity, and stage-gate requirements.
Financial model inputs and value drivers
  • Provide structured, auditable inputs from the OPEX model into the financial model (cash flow timing, ramp-up curves, unit costs, escalation indices, sustaining costs).
  • Translate technical changes (scope, execution strategy, design basis) into financial impacts and clearly explain drivers of variance.
  • Support economics case development: base case vs. alternatives, optimization opportunities, value engineering options, and trade studies tied to NPV/IRR outcomes.
Required

Skills & Experience:
  • Undergraduate degree in engineering, mining, process, electrical or mechanical preferred.
  • 10 to 15 years of project management experience, preferably in the mining industry.
  • Strong understanding of mining projects, financial modelling, permitting, and project execution.
  • Strong organization and decision‑making skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
