GIS Specialist

Position: GIS Specialist for Musqueam Indian Band
Become a GIS Specialist with the Musqueam Indian Band, providing expert GIS services and technical support. Focus on web-based mapping solutions, data management, and spatial analysis.

As part of the team under the Director of Lands Governance, you will deliver high-quality GIS support and engage in map-related projects. This position requires 3-5 years of relevant GIS experience, particularly in application development and training delivery.

Your role will encompass creating mapping products and managing GIS applications across various departments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and produce digital and paper maps for various uses

• Oversee and update GIS applications and data repositories

• Create high-quality cartographic products using GIS software

• Perform spatial analysis, including 3-D modeling

• Provide end-user support for mapping requests

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Geography or related field

• 3-5 years of GIS experience, including programming

• Proficiency with ArcGIS, QGIS, and GPS software

• Experience with Postgre

SQL/PostGIS and MySQL

• Ability to work independently with excellent communication skills
