Position: Protection Engineer )

PS Technology Inc. (PSTI) is a respected solution provider of planning studies, system protection engineering, and high voltage design of renewable and utility power facilities through 500kV. PSTI has diligently and successfully served clients in Alberta and Western Canada for over two decades.

PSTI operates as a fully owned company of Electrical Consultants, Inc. (ECI).

PSTI has an immediate opening for a Protection Engineer.

Responsibilities
  • Provide power system protection services including system model development, short‑circuit analysis, relay settings development, area coordination studies, standards development, relay operation analysis, and technical reviews of drawings and relay settings.
  • Support project delivery from the protection team led by the Protection Supervisor.
  • Mentor less experienced engineers via direct training and technical review of work.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 5+ years protection engineering experience.
  • Proficient in ASPEN Oneliner software.
  • In‑depth knowledge of system protection coordination and philosophy.
  • Working knowledge of common power system high‑voltage apparatus and inverter‑based resource (I ).
  • Proficiency in Siemens APA (formerly CAPE) or ETAP is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organization and planning skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Commitment to quality and accuracy.
  • Willingness to meet rapid‑paced project schedules.
  • P.Eng license required; US PE license may be required.
  • Knowledgeable of applicable codes, standards and design tools.
  • Open to client‑mandated drug and background checking.
