Your Impact- Lead multidisciplinary geological studies, from exploration program design and implementation to mineral resource estimation for diverse commodities and deposit types.
- Direct geological modeling and resource estimation using advanced tools such as Leapfrog, Datamine, Vulcan, and similar platforms, ensuring accuracy and compliance with global standards.
- Own the geology workstream for front‑end studies (PEA, PFS, FS), producing technical reports that influence strategic project decisions.
- Champion innovation by evaluating and applying new technologies, geostatistical methods, and resource estimation approaches to improve efficiency and reliability.
- Serve as a Qualified Person/Competent Person, providing authoritative oversight for mineral resource disclosure across multiple jurisdictions.
- Mentor and develop talent, guiding junior and intermediate geologists through technical reviews and career growth opportunities.
- Integrate globally, collaborating with WSP's Practice Area Network to share knowledge and leverage international expertise for local solutions.
- Drive business growth, partnering with senior leaders to implement strategic initiatives and expand WSP's mining footprint across Canada and internationally.
- Champion a safety‑first culture, embedding risk management and compliance into every aspect of project delivery.
- Build enduring client relationships, offering trusted advice and shaping solutions that deliver long‑term value.
- 15+ years of post‑degree experience in resource geology, with proven leadership in mineral resource estimation, geostatistical analyses, and geological modeling.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Mineral Resource/Economic Geology, Geological Engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo.) registration in Canada, or eligibility to obtain it promptly.
- Deep technical expertise in mineral resource estimation and geostatistical analyses, with hands‑on proficiency in Leapfrog, Datamine, Vulcan, Supervisor, Isatis, and similar platforms.
- Strong knowledge of global mining disclosure standards and reporting codes, ensuring compliance and credibility in resource reporting.
- Ability to act as a Qualified Person/Competent Person, ensuring adherence to international best practices.
- Direct operating site experience, bringing practical insights to geological modeling and resource estimation strategies.
- Strategic mindset, with demonstrated success in business development and client engagement at senior levels.
- Exceptional technical writing and communication skills, enabling transparent, persuasive reporting and stakeholder alignment.
- Proven ability to manage risk, balancing technical, financial, and operational considerations to deliver resilient outcomes.
- Leadership excellence, fostering collaboration and empowering diverse teams to achieve ambitious goals.
- BC, AB, SK, NWT & NT: $162,200 – $212,200
- MB & ON: $148,000 – $198,000
- Atlantic Provinces & QC: $146,500 – $194,600
The final salary awarded for this role may vary from the above range based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs. The wage range provided in this job posting may be subject to change for business purposes.
