Skyline Recruitment is working with a well-established multidisciplinary engineering consulting firm seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join their growing Vancouver team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer looking to take a lead role on complex industrial and hydroelectric infrastructure projects across Western Canada.
The successful candidate will work within a collaborative, employee-focused environment and contribute to a wide variety of heavy industrial, energy, and infrastructure projects. Candidates with hydroelectric project experience are strongly preferred; however, those with a strong industrial structural background will also be considered.
Key Responsibilities- Lead structural engineering projects from proposal stage through detailed design and construction support
- Perform structural analysis and design for industrial and hydroelectric facilities
- Prepare technical reports, calculations, specifications, and engineering deliverables
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including civil, mechanical, electrical, and geotechnical engineers
- Review and oversee detailed drawings and construction documentation
- Support project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and client communication
- Conduct site visits, inspections, and provide construction support as required
- Mentor junior and intermediate engineers and contribute to team development
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a structural specialization
- 10+ years of relevant structural engineering experience
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in British Columbia, or eligibility to obtain
- Strong experience in industrial structural design; hydroelectric project experience considered a major asset
- Proficiency with structural analysis and design software such as SAP
2000, RISA, STAAD, ETABS, or ANSYS - Experience working within multidisciplinary consulting environments
- Strong communication, technical writing, and leadership skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Competitive compensation package ranging from $120,000–$150,000
