Role OverviewBBA’s Vancouver office is currently seeking a Senior Chemical Engineer to join a Canadian-wide team that offers high‑quality expertise and consulting services. As a senior engineer, the ideal candidate will support the growth of the local team by leading projects in the Advanced Fuels and Chemicals (AFC) sector, building and strengthening client relationships, and mentoring peers.
Key Responsibilities- Participate in the development and scale‑up of fresh processes in the Advanced Fuels and Chemical sectors.
- Work on projects collaboratively with national and international teams, contributing to bottom line.
- Support growth in Western Canada by initiating and seizing business development opportunities, generating proposals, presenting to new clients, and fostering relationships.
- Lead and support the AFC process team in executing mono‑ and multidisciplinary projects valued $10k–$500k.
- Organize, prepare, and review process engineering deliverables, including mass and energy balances, process flow diagrams, P&IDs, technical specifications, and economic studies.
- Participate in risk assessment studies (HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA, What‑if).

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering.
- 3+ years in a consulting firm.
- 8+ years of relevant experience in project execution in the advanced fuels and chemicals, oil and gas or chemicals industry.
- Strong knowledge of chemical engineering principles.
- Professional Engineering designation in British Columbia or eligibility to register with EGBC.
- Proficiency with Aspen Plus and Aspen HYSYS.
- Proficiency with Fathom or comparable hydraulic simulation software.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
- Asset:
Bilingual in English and French.
- Annual base salary between $118,000 and $144,000.
