About the Role

HDR is seeking a Waste/Remediation Project Manager with 7 or more years of experience. The successful candidate will be based in HDR’s Vancouver office and will support solid waste, waste‑to‑energy, and environmental remediation projects across Western Canada.

Responsibilities
  • Manage waste, remediation, and mine closure/reclamation projects or large complex tasks for Provincial, Indigenous, and private clients.
  • Direct and coordinate work of single or multidisciplinary teams throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Oversee all aspects of complex small to medium projects or routine large projects.
  • Produce and coordinate several small to medium projects concurrently.
  • Establish and maintain client relations; participate in marketing, contractual, design, and production meetings.
  • Conduct work sessions for deliverable development with staff and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate staffing and workload through the entire project life cycle, ensuring completion of deliverables on schedule.
  • Track financial aspects of projects, aligning work effort with budget and schedule.
  • Collaborate with Accounting, Operational, and Business leadership for periodic project reviews.
  • Implement QA/QC procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in civil or environmental engineering or a closely related discipline.
  • 7 years of experience in environmental remediation and waste‑related projects, focusing on site investigations and engineering.
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations throughout Western Canada.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Current residence in Vancouver preferred.
  • Experience supporting mine closure and reclamation projects.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
  • 7 years of related experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of project management experience.
  • Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered.
  • MS Office and MS Project experience required; MS Access experience a plus.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.

Compensation

The pay range for Vancouver, BC: $103,873 - $148,390.
