About the Role
HDR is seeking a Waste/Remediation Project Manager with 7 or more years of experience. The successful candidate will be based in HDR’s Vancouver office and will support solid waste, waste‑to‑energy, and environmental remediation projects across Western Canada.
Responsibilities- Manage waste, remediation, and mine closure/reclamation projects or large complex tasks for Provincial, Indigenous, and private clients.
- Direct and coordinate work of single or multidisciplinary teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Oversee all aspects of complex small to medium projects or routine large projects.
- Produce and coordinate several small to medium projects concurrently.
- Establish and maintain client relations; participate in marketing, contractual, design, and production meetings.
- Conduct work sessions for deliverable development with staff and stakeholders.
- Coordinate staffing and workload through the entire project life cycle, ensuring completion of deliverables on schedule.
- Track financial aspects of projects, aligning work effort with budget and schedule.
- Collaborate with Accounting, Operational, and Business leadership for periodic project reviews.
- Implement QA/QC procedures.
- Perform additional duties as necessary.
- Master’s degree in civil or environmental engineering or a closely related discipline.
- 7 years of experience in environmental remediation and waste‑related projects, focusing on site investigations and engineering.
- Knowledge of environmental regulations throughout Western Canada.
- Ability to travel.
- Current residence in Vancouver preferred.
- Experience supporting mine closure and reclamation projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- 7 years of related experience.
- Minimum 2 years of project management experience.
- Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered.
- MS Office and MS Project experience required; MS Access experience a plus.
- Demonstrated leadership skills.

The pay range for Vancouver, BC: $103,873 - $148,390.
