Job Summary
The Senior Associate is responsible for managing their respective Project Design Team. They are fully responsible and accountable for their design team staff, regularly review staffing and distribute tasks effectively and consistently with staff skillsets. By providing technical support and management resources, the Senior Associate ensures that design decision‑making and team management accountability take place.
Duties and Responsibilities- Leads a team, ensuring members receive adequate training, support and development opportunities
- Accountable for ensuring appropriate utilization, workload planning and forecasting
- Implements programs to improve the quality of service, products, and systems to meet clients' requirements, minimize costs, and maximize the firm’s competitive position
- Promote quality issues with all team members and ensure that the quality control function is effectively performed and embedded as a standard in the team
- Assure adequate field review services are provided to ensure adherence of contract documents
- Act as the firm representative and maintain good relationships with clients, project stakeholders, associations, government bodies and other entities
- Is an active role model for team and office culture and promotes an inclusive workplace
- Builds and manages their own key clients and monitors key pursuits/opportunities
- Contributes to GO/NO-GO decisions with the mindset of growing the business
- Monitors and assists with keeping team performance at or above the annual plan
- Is a discipline lead on projects with minimal peer/technical support required
- 10+ years design experience in HV, LV, control and lighting design
- Experience leading and designing institutional projects
- Has led a team
- Experience responding to RFPs and writing Business Cases
- University degree, college/technology diploma in Electrical Engineering
- Professional Engineer (PEng), Applied Science Technologist (AScT), or equivalent
- LEED Accredited professional designation or other relevant rating or performance system is desired
