Key Responsibilities- Develop and modify 2D / 3D plant models using tools such as Micro Station, AutoCAD, Smart Plant 3D.
- Create equipment layout drawings, general arrangement (GA) drawings, and layout plans
- Ensure secure and accessible equipment placement considering maintenance clearance, operability, and safety regulations.
- Work with mechanical engineers to position rotating and static equipment, including pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, pressure vessels, tanks, filters, and packaged equipment.
- Interpret vendor drawings, equipment data sheets, and technical specifications to accurately model and place equipment.
- Develop tie-in points, equipment nozzles, and interface details needed for piping routing.
- Interface with piping, structural, electrical, HVAC, and civil teams to maintain discipline alignment in the plant model.
- Participate in model reviews (30%, 60%, 90%) and update the model based on interdisciplinary comments.
- Coordinate layout solutions that support constructability, modularization, and site installation strategies.
- Produce 2D deliverables
- Develop material take-offs (MTOs) and ensure adherence to project and client drafting standards.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable codes (ASME, API, CSA), safety requirements, and EPC guidelines.
- Review layouts for quality, accuracy, accessibility, and consistency with design intent and standards.
Job Requirements
- Accredited two (2) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and twenty (20) years of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to twenty-two (22) years if non-degreed; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements
- Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
- Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
- Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
- Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
- Knowledge of commercial availability and cost of materials
- Practical field experience
- Intermediate computer and software skills to include the use of word processing, e-mail, spreadsheet and electronic presentation programs

- Ability to perform clash checks and participate in model review sessions.

The Fluor Canada offices work a compressed work schedule offering every second Friday off.
