Position: Senior Metallurgist )

The Opportunity

As a Senior Metallurgical Engineer in the ERI Metals and Mining group, you will work within a multidisciplinary team dedicated to planning and executing studies and detailed engineering for new processing plants as well as upgrades to existing facilities, located in our Vancouver office.

Responsibilities
  • Identify client needs and contribute to proposals.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to define project needs and present technical information, concepts, and study outcomes.
  • Establish design criteria, develop mass balances, define process flow diagrams, size and select process equipment, and prepare piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
  • Develop laboratory test programs, oversee their execution, and analyze resulting data.
  • Prepare capital and operating cost estimates.
  • Review and produce tender packages, technical specifications, and related engineering documents.
  • Act as a Qualified Person (QP) for technical reports.
  • Provide supervision and guidance to technicians, drafters, and junior metallurgists.
  • Assist project managers and team leads as required.
  • Carry out other related tasks that support market growth and successful project delivery.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or an equivalent discipline.
  • 15+ years of relevant experience in metallurgical processes.
  • Current P.ENG license.
  • Experience in consulting engineering companies (asset).
  • Robust initiative, attention to detail, and rigorous work approach.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and share expertise across teams.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Bilingualism (English/French) – asset.
Compensation

AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $135,200 – $179,100
MB & ON: $123,300 – $169,800
NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $114,900 – $154,800
