Civil Engineer - Waste Management Initiatives

This role involves coordinating solid waste programs and collaborating with various departments to ensure compliance and efficiency. You'll conduct project management activities and provide technical support, directly contributing to the City’s long-term waste reduction strategies, including the Zero Waste 2040 initiative. Strong communication and analytical skills are essential for success.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee project execution and contract administration
• Research and analyze new waste reduction strategies
• Evaluate infrastructure needs and coordinate approvals
• Develop comprehensive reports for Council oversight
• Track and report on performance metrics
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Applied Sciences
• At least three years' experience in municipal solid waste
• Registration as a Professional Engineer or Engineer-in-Training
• Familiarity with municipal waste systems and policies
• Current Class 5 BC Driver’s License
