Senior Hydrotechnical/ CFD Engineer – Water Dams
Location: Vancouver, BC

Responsibilities- Lead and collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams from conceptual through final design and construction support.
- Act as a technical resource on project teams, providing expertise in hydrodynamics, fluid‑structure interaction, transient analysis, and numerical simulations.
- Deliver progress reports to clients and senior management at regular intervals.
- Conduct site visits and collect data to support design activities.
- Lead dam safety reviews, either as a discipline lead or overall lead.
- Communicate professionally with clients and internal stakeholders.
- Maintain compliance with company‑established quality management systems and suggest improvements.
- Engage in business and professional development, including conference attendance and training.
- Develop and mentor junior project team members.
- Registered as a Professional Engineer in British Columbia or eligible to register.
- Master’s or PhD in Hydrotechnical or Civil Engineering.
- 10–15 years of hydrotechnical experience with extensive CFD delivery in consulting or owner/operator settings.
- Proficiency with CFD tools such as Flow 3D.
- Experience leading and conducting transient hydraulic and CFD analyses.
- Business development experience, including proposal writing and leading proposals.
- Strong technical knowledge and design capabilities in civil engineering, specifically for dams from feasibility to detailed design.
- Experience with large conventional hydro and pump storage projects (50–100 MW).
- Ability to interface with geotechnical, civil‑structural, and mechanical design aspects.
- Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams and with clients.
- Proven record of project management and client management.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in English, with competent report writing ability.
- Construction site experience.
- Experience performing dam safety reviews and inspections.
- Capability to manage projects exceeding $1 Million.
- Professional registrations in other provinces or the United States.
- French or Spanish language proficiency.
- Experience in hydrology.
- Salary range: $120,000–$180,000 per year, based on experience, education, and skill level.
