Purpose

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Planner/Scheduler (Mining). This is a full‑time position based in Vancouver, British Columbia. Worley is seeking a Senior Planner/Scheduler with experience on Mining Projects to join our project controls team either at Edmonton or Calgary or Vancouver Office or at project sites in Alberta, Saskatchewan or British Columbia.

Work Conditions
  • Home Office (Monday to Friday on a hybrid schedule: Tuesday to Thursday in office, 40 hours per week).

This position will be responsible for establishing Level 3 or 4 resource‑loaded P6 schedules for EPCM or construction projects, including schedules for bids/proposals. Candidate is expected to work with minimum support from construction supervision in the development of Level 4 resource‑loaded schedule using 3D models, engineering work packages, drawings and estimating information. The Planner/Scheduler will provide detailed time analysis to the engineering, construction management team and project manager and will inform them of potential delays and/or opportunities in an expeditious fashion.

Able to perform and excel in a fast‑paced environment, with willingness for site‑based positions and flexibility depending on departmental requirements; accountability for multiple projects may be expected.

Responsibilities
  • Create and maintain master schedules (Level 2, 3, 4 and
    5) based on specific project requirements/needs and inputs from multiple departments.
  • Develop and maintain a resource‑loaded project master schedule as per the project Work Breakdown Structure.
  • Ensure key activities and schedule milestone dates identified in the schedule basis are captured in the project master schedule.
  • Develop the Basis of Schedule document.
  • Coordinate with client, hydrotest group and completions group to develop detailed turnover logic.
  • Update the schedule with progress‑tracking information and ensure earned progress in the scorecard aligns with schedule updates; knowledge of earning rules of credits, scorecard setup and its integration with regular schedule updates.
  • Determine the quality of the schedule using Acumen Fuse and resolve any shortcomings.
  • Prior experience with schedule risk analysis using Primavera Risk Analysis (PRA) software will be considered an asset.
  • Assess schedule impacts as part of the change‑management procedure and modify the schedule to reflect all approved changes.
  • Organise various Inter‑Active Planning (IAP) sessions throughout the project life cycle.
  • Coordinate with Workface planning/AWP group in developing detailed schedule with FIWP breakup.
  • Monitor schedule milestones and other key activity/deliverable dates; notify the project team of any variances and initiate schedule mitigation.
  • Coordinate with sub‑contractors and vendors in developing and managing their schedule, including schedule interface process.
  • Organise required schedule reviews with project personnel.
  • Assist project controls specialist on updating the Quantity Tracking Database (QTDB) / progress scorecards and obtaining progress information to update the project schedule.
  • Assist project controls specialist in generating cash‑flow curves and other cost forecasts for the project.
  • Review with all stakeholders the variance analysis after each schedule update and address those as part of the shift‑report narrative.
  • Assist Project Controls in developing skyline charts for EWP IFC, module assembly, system walk‑downs and turnover.
  • Incorporate approved changes in the schedule and analyse the impact of changes to the project critical path.
  • Provide feedback to key stakeholders regarding the overall status of the project, inclusive but not limited to:
  • Critical Path Analysis.
  • Manpower Forecasting / Histogram Preparation.
  • Provide forecast to Project Controls for report generation.
  • Provide information required for internal and external reporting.
  • Perform progress‑validation walks of the various sites if requested to ensure the schedule is being met.
  • Generate a three‑week look‑ahead schedule.
  • Experience managing contractor schedule development, maintenance and management of overall project master schedule.
