Project Manager II
Responsibilities
Plans, manages, executes and controls one or multiple assigned infrastructure and engineering projects involving larger scope, risk, impact and sensitivity. Ensures the successful delivery according to Enterprise engineering project management standards, governance and procedures.
Key Accountabilities- Plans, manages, executes, and controls all aspects of assigned capital projects involving larger scope, risk, impact and sensitivity, in alignment with the divisional strategy and departmental objectives.
- Leads the strategic planning of assigned capital projects, including defining the scope of the project in collaboration with senior management; creating business cases/justifications and work plans, determining the objectives and measurements, determining the budget, resources, and stakeholders; setting up the project schedule and reviewing plans.
- Manages and monitors assigned projects through implementation, including executing the project according to the project plan; creating project management records and documentation; monitoring the project progress and financial status of the project. Anticipates and proactively manages change throughout the project life cycle.
- Prepares contracts, Requests for Proposals (RFP) and tender documents for projects, including terms and conditions, scope of work definition, technical requirements, project specific requirements and project schedule constraints.
- Presents and reports the project progress, risks, expectations, timelines, milestones and key project metrics to the senior leadership team. Provides suggestions and recommendations to the senior leadership team on risk management and project delivery.
- Manages cross functional project teams and stakeholders across the enterprise. Develops and maintains a respectful and productive relationship with all stakeholders. Coordinates internal resources and third parties/vendors to seamlessly execute projects.
- Provides expert advice and recommendations on engineering project management standards, governance and procedures to continuously improve the enterprise project management practices.
- Provides technical guidance to Project Managers at lower levels.
The competencies for this position would typically be acquired through completion of a University degree in Engineering, a Professional Engineering designation or eligibility to register as a P.Eng and PMP certification also is required. Requires seven (7) years of previous experience in engineering project management.

- Advanced verbal and written communication skills.
- Solid technical skills in business and project management computer applications and databases.
This role will support design and construction of OMC4, a new Sky Train Operations and Maintenance Centre in Coquitlam. OMC4 is being built to support Sky Train systems expansion over the next five years, including the new Broadway Subway and Surrey Langley Sky Train lines. As the largest project in Trans Link’s Engineering portfolio, OMC4 is an exciting, fast-paced initiative involving over 60 project team members, along with the construction team, design team, and key stakeholders.
All parties are working collaboratively toward a shared goal of connecting the region by providing a sustainable, reliable transportation network.
37.5 hours per week.
Work DesignationHybrid – This position offers the flexibility of working both on-site and remotely within B.C.
Rate of PayThe salary for this position ranges from $100,080 - $150,120 per annum. Actual salary offered will be based on education, experience, skills, and qualifications as they relate to the role. We aim to provide competitive pay that reflects your professional background and expertise. The total compensation package, which includes Extended Health, Dental, Transit Pass and enrollment in the Public Service Pension Plan as well as other employment offerings, will be discussed in detail as your application progresses.
