Position SummaryAs the Team Lead, Energy Consulting you will plan, organize, direct, and evaluate the work of a local team of Energy Analysts while overseeing technical consulting projects related to energy efficiency, building systems, and GHG reduction.
Duties include:
- Lead, supervise, and mentor a team of Energy Analysts.
- Assign work, monitor performance, and conduct regular performance reviews.
- Oversee onboarding, training, and development of team members.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and quality standards.
- Manage team capacity, resource planning, and utilization targets.
- Plan, manage, and execute consulting projects including energy audits, building condition assessments, and GHG reduction pathways.
- Review project contracts, proposals, and scopes of work.
- Monitor project timelines, budgets, deliverables, and quality control.
- Ensure all deliverables meet technical and quality standards before submission.
- Track and report on KPIs such as productivity, client satisfaction, and project profitability.
- Provide technical guidance on energy modelling, building systems, ECMs, and sustainability strategies.
- Review and validate technical analysis, modelling outputs, and recommendations.
- Support development of scalable solutions for building decarbonization.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for local clients.
- Build and maintain long‑term client relationships through regular meetings and check‑ins.
- Address client concerns and elevate issues when required.
- Support project close‑out and hand‑off to internal stakeholders.
- Approve timesheets, expenses, overtime, and time‑off requests.
- Support conflict resolution and employee relations matters within the team.
- Organize team‑building activities and co‑working sessions to strengthen collaboration.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Building Science, or a related field (required).
- Professional Engineering designation (P.Eng.) is an asset.
- Minimum 3‑5 years of experience in energy consulting, building systems, or sustainability.
- Minimum 1‑2 years of experience supervising or mentoring technical staff.
- Experience with project management, budgeting, and client relationship management.
- Experience with energy audits, ECMs, and energy modelling software (e.g., RETScreen, eQuest) is an asset.
- Strong leadership and team‑building abilities.
- Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and visual).
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Ability to travel as required.
- Willingness to use personal mobile phone for business purposes.
- Fluency in English is required.
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
- Experience managing hybrid, remote, or distributed teams.
- Self‑starter with an entrepreneurial mindset.
- Experience working with First Nations communities and/or non‑profit organizations is considered an asset.
- Work on meaningful retrofit projects that directly support climate action.
