In this relief role, you will be responsible for the effective management of ship propulsion and power systems. You will oversee routine and emergency repairs while collaborating with the Engineering Superintendent to enhance operational efficiencies. Your leadership will foster a high-performing crew and ensure safety compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
• Monitor and document ship structure and equipment condition
• Direct emergency repairs and maintenance planning
• Liaise with regulatory bodies for inspections
• Conduct crew inspections and training for emergency situations
• Implement safety and operational performance improvements
Requirements:
• Valid 1st Class Motor Certificate of Competency
• Experience as a Chief Engineer or watch engineer
• Supervisory and business course completion preferred
• Strong leadership and customer service skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
