NORAM has successfully engineered and supplied patented and proprietary processes and equipment to the chemical process industry in more than 40 countries spanning more than 35 years. NORAM’s technologies have supported industries such as lithium, sulfuric acid, nitration, wastewater and pulp and paper.
Role OverviewNORAM is seeking self‑motivated and skilled mechanical engineering candidates to creatively contribute to our multi‑disciplinary project teams that design innovative proprietary plant layouts and equipment including reactor vessels, heat exchangers and mixing tanks for the chemical industry globally. Project team roles from junior engineer to senior engineer are currently available. Mentorship will depend upon candidate’s relevant experience. Candidates should have strong written and verbal communication skills and must be (or eligible to be) registered with EGBC as a PEng or an EIT.
An important aspect of the mechanical engineering positions at NORAM is the ability and desire to travel to client’s sites both domestically and internationally as the project phases evolve. Vendor visits, client meetings, conferences and product commissioning are all components of a mechanical engineer’s role at NORAM.
Responsibilities- Reactor, vessel, heat exchanger design and innovation.
- Selection and specification of rotating equipment.
- Piping and ducting design inclusive of pipe routing.
- Overall chemical plant layout.
- Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and/or Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD).
- Inspection of fabricated equipment at fabricators located globally.
- Supporting local and international clients during installation, construction and field evaluation of equipment and systems.
Registered with EGBC as a PEng or an EIT (or eligible to be) and willing to travel domestically and internationally.
