Overview
AtkinsRéalis has a large experienced hydroelectric team (over 100 employees), mainly composed of engineers and technicians, located in Montreal and Vancouver. The team works in geotechnics, geology, civil engineering and structure, hydrology and hydraulics, mechanics and electricity.
The team covers the Canadian market and occasionally international projects. You may be asked to participate in projects both in Canada and abroad.
You will take charge of technical mandates specific to hydroelectric structures including dams, spillways and powerhouses.
Your roleAs a civil / structural engineer, you will join a team dedicated to engineering works mainly targeting hydroelectric projects and will support the client in decision‑making or clarifying their needs.
- Structural design of hydraulic structures, hydroelectric power plants and related structures (concrete and steel).
- Rehabilitation of hydraulic works, hydroelectric power plants and related structures.
- Multidisciplinary coordination, attending and leading design meetings (internally and with the client).
- Production of preliminary and detailed engineering, and preparation and/or verification of design calculations and associated calculation notes.
- Participation and supervision of the production of the main technical deliverables, i.e. design reports, structural drawings and technical specifications for calls for tenders and for construction.
- Supervision and mentoring of junior staff.
- Follow‑up the works during construction.
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, structural profile; a Master's degree is an asset.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in design and rehabilitation of water‑retaining structures, bridges and heavy civil engineering structures. Knowledge of Canadian Dam Safety guidelines.
- Member of the EGBC and eligible for registration as a professional engineer in Canada.
- Fluency in English (spoken and written); bilingualism is an asset.
- Strong computer skills and working knowledge of SAP
2000, Abaqus, ANSYS.

Expected compensationSalary range: $125,000 – $171,900 annually. Base salaries are determined by skills, experience and potential impact.
