Who are we looking for?

GHD’s Water Group is experiencing rapid growth and expansion into Western Canada, and we are seeking a Water Engineer/Project Manager to be based in the Vancouver, BC office with diversified experience in design and construction contract administration of municipal projects including linear infrastructure (sewers & water systems), lift stations, pump stations, and storm water management. Working experience using Mike Urban software would be an asset.

Working with an energetic and high‑performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

• Lead and grow client relationships and act as a project manager and technical lead providing our clients with the assurance they are in good hands.
• Collaborate with senior engineers, scientists, technologists and other people and develop multi‑discipline technical teams in the execution of various ongoing projects from master planning, assessment, conceptual to detailed design.
• Lead, manage and assist in managing various projects under the direction of senior engineers, with direct communication with clients and sub‑consultants.
• Work with our Water Leadership team to continue our expansion of water infrastructure market share in Western Canada, including client marketing sessions, market growth strategies and proposal preparation.
• Ensure project deliverables meet or exceed GHD’s internal and external client quality objectives.
• Help expand the team by providing coaching and attracting new talents to join our business.
• Bring in new clients and relationships to help expand our market reach and business.

What you bring to the team:

• Professional Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Strong technical experience in the assessment and design of stormwater management, green infrastructure, and gravity flow linear design systems.
• Experience with planning and modelling projects from inception through execution.
• Strong experience and knowledge of urban watershed and network modelling, including master planning and Integrated Stormwater Management Plan.
• Experience in providing design inputs within a firm having an established Quality Assurance and Quality Control program that is registered to a standard equal to or higher than ISO 9001.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills and experience in the preparation of proposals and technical reports.
• Strong project management skills relating to development and tracking of project schedules and budget, quality control, safety and overall governance.
• Working experience using Info Works ICM, SWMM, HEC‑RAS and other software would be an asset.

The salary range for this position is $112,448 to $187,413. The posted salary range represents the expected hiring range for GHD locations in major city centres.
