- Design and develop engineering solutions for water and wastewater treatment systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.
- Conduct detailed assessments and evaluations of existing water and wastewater facilities to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including environmental scientists, project managers, and construction personnel, to ensure project objectives are met.
- Prepare technical reports, feasibility studies, and project proposals that clearly articulate design concepts and project scopes.
- Oversee the construction and commissioning of water and wastewater projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Utilize advanced modeling software to simulate water flow and treatment processes, providing data-driven insights for project decisions.
- Engage with clients and stakeholders to understand their needs and provide expert guidance on water management solutions.
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes to ensure Tritech remains at the forefront of water and wastewater engineering.
- Mentor junior engineers and interns, fostering a culture of learning and professional development within the team.
- Participate in community outreach initiatives to promote awareness of water conservation and sustainable practices.
- Conduct site inspections and assessments to monitor the performance of water and wastewater systems, recommending necessary adjustments or upgrades.
- Prepare and present project updates to stakeholders, ensuring transparent communication throughout the project lifecycle.
- A Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in water and wastewater engineering, with a proven track record of successful project delivery.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in British Columbia or eligibility for registration.
- Strong knowledge of water treatment processes, wastewater management, and relevant environmental regulations.
- Proficiency in engineering design software, such as AutoCAD, HEC-RAS, or similar tools.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey technical information to diverse audiences.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while also being self-motivated and capable of managing individual tasks.
- Familiarity with project management principles and experience in managing project timelines and budgets.
- A valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
- Experience with advanced modeling tools such as EPANET or SWMM for hydraulic analysis.
- Knowledge of green infrastructure practices and sustainable design principles.
- Previous experience working with government agencies or municipal clients in the water sector.
- Familiarity with grant writing and funding applications for water-related projects.
- Certification in water treatment or wastewater treatment operations is a plus.
- Proficient in engineering software, including AutoCAD, GIS applications, and hydraulic modeling tools.
- Strong understanding of environmental regulations and compliance standards related to water and wastewater management.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to engage with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
- Strong analytical skills for data interpretation and problem-solving in engineering contexts.
- This position is based in Vancouver, British Columbia, and may require occasional travel to project sites within the region.
