Job Summary

The Manager, Mine Geology provides technical support and coordination for mine geology activities across operating sites and development projects. The role works closely with site geology, technical services, mine planning, and operations teams to support geological interpretation, grade control, reconciliation, and continuous improvement initiatives. The position contributes technical expertise and assists in implementing geology best practices that enhance operational performance and orebody understanding.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support site geology teams with geological interpretation, grade control practices, sampling programs, and orebody understanding.
  • Assist with geological reconciliation reviews and provide recommendations to improve geological performance and predictability.
  • Review operational geology data and identify opportunities for process consistency and improvement.
  • Support implementation of established geology standards, procedures, and best practices across operations.
  • Collaborate with resource geology, mine planning, metallurgy, and operations teams to support production objectives.
  • Contribute geological input to resource updates, business planning processes, and technical studies.
  • Assist in evaluating geological risks and opportunities and communicate findings to technical leadership.
  • Support initiatives to improve geological modelling, grade control practices, reconciliation processes, and data quality.
  • Share lessons learned and best practices between sites.
  • Monitor industry developments and identify practical opportunities for improvement within geology functions.
  • Participate in site visits, technical reviews, and geology assessments as required.
Required Experience and Skill Set
  • 8+ years of progressive mine geology, resource geology, grade control, exploration, reconciliation, or technical services experience in mining operations or projects.
  • Working knowledge of geological modelling, grade control systems, resource estimation inputs, reconciliation practices, and geological data management.
  • Experience supporting mining operations and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Effective stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Ability to influence outcomes through collaboration rather than organizational authority.

Job Conditions

  • Fluency in Spanish is an asset.

Certifications

  • Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo.) designation or equivalent.
  • NI 43-101 Qualified Person (QP) status is considered an asset.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Geological Engineering, Earth Sciences, Mining Engineering, or a related discipline.
