Senior Controls Systems Automation Designer

Become a vital part of the ATS team in Woodbridge, ON, as a Senior Controls Systems Software Designer, where you will create advanced automation solutions using modern technology.

This position focuses on designing and developing control systems while overseeing project management aspects such as budgets and schedules. You will work closely with mechanical and electrical teams, mentor peers, and travel to installations worldwide to ensure client satisfaction. Your background in PLC programming and SCADA systems will enable you to lead innovative projects effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design PLC-based programs according to project specifications

• Program in structured test languages including C# and Python

• Test and integrate hardware and software components

• Support system commissioning and troubleshooting on-site

• Coach junior team members to enhance their skills

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in controls engineering

• Proficiency in Rockwell Studio and Siemens TIA Portal

• Experience working with automation systems like SCADA

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities

• Engineering degree focused on Systems, Electrical, or Mechatronics
