Position Summary:

Hatch is currently seeking a highly motivated  Instrumentation and Control Engineer  to join our team in Vancouver. This role is part of our Project Delivery Group, which helps clients reach their business goals through a range of strong technical capabilities. We ensure world‑class project delivery through the skills of our people, methodologies, governance, and systems.
The  Instrumentation and Control Engineer  will report to the Project Manager on small projects and for large projects, either be or report to the to the Control and Automation Lead Engineer and lead the design on these projects.
You will support our senior and junior engineers and designers in delivering projects which involve instrumentation and controls engineering. You will also be responsible for assisting the development and management of assigned project work during all phases, from inception through to planning, design & construction in accordance with the project scope, schedule and budget.
Responsibilities /

About the Role:

Provide technical and administrative support through all phases of a project.
Assist with the delivery of project requirements as they relate to scope deliverables, cost and schedule.
Prepare technical documentation required for the execution of the project
Manage and coordinate the progress of the engineering work in accordance with the project scope, schedule and procedures.
Review shop drawings to ensure conformity with engineering designs.
Following the award of contracts and purchase orders as instructed, monitor the fabrication and construction work to ensure that it is executed in accordance with the engineering designs.
Witness Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT).
Implementing corrective action as required.
Review the outcome of quality audits of engineering work and perform remedial work in accordance with the project procedures and the quality assurance plan.
Check of documentation and interdisciplinary coordination is implemented in accordance with project procedures.
Prepare draft monthly engineering progress reports for incorporation into the engineering monthly report.
On a monthly basis, provide an update of the progress of the engineering work packages.
Compile Functional Control Specifications; perform programming of control systems
Provide reviews, support, and mentorship to junior engineers and support senior engineers with execution of work.
Education and

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited University.
7+ years project engineering experience. Mining experience would be an asset.
Experience in instrumentation, control and automation design/consultancy ideally within a similar large engineering or multi‑disciplinary project environment.
