As an Environmental Advisory Consultant
, you'll support the delivery of environmental services across the planning, design, and construction phases of major infrastructure projects. Working alongside senior environmental leads and multidisciplinary teams, you'll help integrate environmental compliance, risk, and schedule considerations throughout the project lifecycle. As your experience and project knowledge grow, you'll also have opportunities to help lead defined environmental scopes and coordinate key work streams on complex projects.

Supporting project teams in delivering environmental scopes of work across planning, design, and construction

Preparing technical reports, proposals, and stakeholder communication materials with guidance from senior team members

Identifying, tracking, and addressing environmental risks during project design, planning, and delivery

Researching and advising project teams on potential environmental constraints, opportunities, compliance requirements, mitigation measures, and management approaches

Supporting project delivery activities, including scope development, budgeting, scheduling, and progress tracking

Coordinating environmental assessments, permitting activities, and regulatory reviews with internal specialists and subconsultants

Coordinating and guiding execution of defined environmental scopes or work streams on major infrastructure projects, with support from senior team members

Providing technical input to regulatory and permitting strategies and processes

Supporting coordination with regulatory agencies, including DFO, MWLRS, and MoF, and helping integrate feedback from Indigenous communities

Working collaboratively with technical specialists, clients, contractors, and other project stakeholders

Experience engaging directly with Indigenous communities is considered an asset

Working knowledge of archaeological management and permitting is considered an asset

We're looking for someone who combines technical expertise with strong communication and collaboration skills and is motivated to grow into greater responsibility for environmental scopes over time.

• Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Environmental Science, Biology, Ecology, or related field
• 5-10 years of related experience in environmental consulting or environmental management of infrastructure projects
• Strong knowledge of provincial (BC-focused) and Canadian federal environmental legislation and permitting processes
• Experience with impact assessments, habitat studies, and mitigation and offset planning
• Construction environmental compliance and oversight experience
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently or as part of a team
• Professional designation or eligibility for professional designation is considered an asset

Multiple factors such as qualifications, overall experience and position responsibilities will be used to determine the successful candidate's actual salary within the expected range.

The expected salary range for this position is from $93,000 - $114,000.
