Position: Expert Protection & Control Engineering Role
Join Stantec as a Senior Protection & Control Engineer in Vancouver, focusing on the design and management of high voltage substations and renewable energy systems. Elevate your career while contributing to impactful projects.

This position is integral to Stantec’s Western Canada Power Delivery team, where you'll collaborate with engineers to develop comprehensive protection and control strategies. You will work on projects at various voltage levels, ensuring compliance with industry standards and codes while fostering a culture of safety and quality assurance in engineering practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create detailed protection engineering drawings for substations

• Design control logic and layouts for protection schemes

• Assemble engineering design packages, including specifications

• Oversee QA/QC processes for design deliverables

• Coordinate multidisciplinary projects and lead junior engineers

Requirements:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering

• 12+ years’ experience with utilities, preferably BC Hydro

• Understanding of Canadian Electrical Code

• Strong proficiency in design software, including AutoCAD

• Valid driver's license for travel to project sites
