Position: Security Shift Manager, Great Canadian Casino
Position Summary
Under the general direction of the Manager, Security, this position is responsible for overseeing security operations on a shift basis while establishing a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members. Is responsible for assisting with the implementation of security initiatives, ensures adherence to all policies and procedures, motivates and leads by example and provides a learning environment. Provides input to the Manager for Performance Evaluations, actively participates in the recruitment and hiring process.
Ensures adherence to the Company's policies and procedures, motivates and leads by example and supports Great Canadian's learning environment while establishing a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members.
Key Accountabilities
Provides leadership, direction and mentoring to the security operation on a shift basis as well as providing input for team member performance objectives and evaluationsOversees security operations on a shift basis: may schedule team members in some locationsImplements security strategic plans as directedResponds and resolves security issues as escalated; provides de-briefing on critical incidents; escalates issues as necessary for resolutionReviews inspection reports and takes appropriate actionProvides support in the administration of access/key control systemsConducts training for security operations; recommending training opportunities and efficienciesMay be asked to assist with internal investigations by providing documentation, interviews, etc.May provide security support for personal protection and venue security to Theatre OperationsMonitors, documents and prepares statements and/or reports on violations, unsafe conditions, potential hazards, suspicious persons or activitiesPrepares and submits monthly Staff Resource Planning Proposals for special events and implements once approvedLiaises and communicates effectively with all appropriate operational departmentsDevelops and cultivates strong working relationships with all stakeholder s (guests, ownership and team members)Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety, and other statutory regulationsPerforming other duties as assigned or directedEducation and Qualifications
Post Secondary education or suitable combination of education and experience an assetMust be available to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, overnights and holidaysMinimum 3 years of experience in security/surveillanceMinimum 1 year supervisory experienceGuard Force Training an asset; ASIS Certification an assetAbility to exceed internal and external customer expectations through timely, effective and service oriented communicationFluency in other languages an assetMust be willing to recertify every 3 years for Use of Force CertificationComputer literacy in MS OfficeAbility to successfully obtain a Gaming LicenseServing it Right CertificationWork Environment Considerations
